CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The struggling U.S. Postal Service thinks they've found a way to increase revenue.
They're considering allowing people to mail alcohol. Currently it's illegal, but the Postal Service says it could generate $50 million a year in profit.
"I don't think it's a good idea because it's easy access for minors to get a hold of alcohol and there's enough issues with that already," said Louise Sinico of West Springfield.
"I think they're desperate but I think they're going in the wrong direction," said Maria Hunt.
The Postal Service is also hoping to end door-to-door mail delivery on Saturday and is toying with the idea of having people pick up their mail at a centralized location in their town.
Last year, the Postal Service lost $16 billion.
