SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Former East Longmeadow selectman, Jack Villamaino, will be in court Wednesday after he was arrested in Boston on Tuesday.
East Longmeadow police told 22News he has been charged with voter fraud. This is in connection to the town's recent election fraud scandal. Over the summer, hundreds of voters had their party affiliations changed without their consent or knowledge.
Villamaino, who was running for state representative this Fall, is now accused of tampering with the ballots.
He will be arraigned Wednesday morning at Hampden County Superior Court. His alleged accomplice, Courtney Lwellyn, was arraigned Tuesday on the same charges.
Former Longmeadow Board member, Marie Angelides, is the Republican candidate for the State House of Representatives in the 2nd Hampden District. She will face incumbent Rep. Brian Ashe in the general election on November 6.
