SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - As hundreds enjoyed their Easter Dinner at Springfield's Commerce High School, volunteers delivered more than twice that number to the needy all across the Pioneer Valley.
A small army of open pantry volunteer drivers delivered 700 meals in a carefully coordinated supply system to make certain everyone on the list would not be disappointed.
Bob Maurice says, "It makes it much nicer so that they have a meal, otherwise they wouldn't be able to have one. "
The Saab Court destination is Springfield's high rise public housing buildings, and home to many elderly and disabled men and women.
