WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Motor vehicle homicide charges have been filed against a man from Ware following a deadly accident on Boston Road in Wilbraham early Thursday morning.
According to a release sent to 22News by the Wilbraham Police Department, a 27 year-old woman from Portland, Maine was killed following the crash on Boston Road near Three Rivers Road. According to police, the car that the woman was riding in collided with an SUV driven by Joshua D. Lacroix, 24, of Ware just before 2:00. The victim's name is not being released until her family has been notified. Five other people were taken to Baystate Medical Center following the crash, but there is no word on their conditions at this time.
Lacroix is being charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence of liquor with serious bodily injury, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
Wilbraham Police believe that Lacroix was traveling eastbound on Boston Road when he collided with a 2002 Nissan Altima with five people inside. The Nissan was headed in the opposite direction. State Police, as well as Palmer and Monson Police are helping Wilbraham police with the investigation.
