GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) - Janet Montemagni of Granby honored the memory of her late husband by hosting a blood drive right in her backyard.
The Baystate Medical Center Bloodmobile came to the Montemagni home at the request of Janet and her family
Janet told 22News she thought this would be a wonderful way to help other people the way her husband J. Randy Montemagni was helped when he needed help.
Janet Montemagni said, "He was a ten year cancer survivor, he didn't die of cancer, he died of a massive heart attack. And I wanted to help in some way and the only thing I could think of was to have them at my house with all the memories that he did so much her and where my kids grew up."
And during much of the four hours the bloodmobile spent at the Montemagni home, many donors came to give blood in memory of J. Randy Montemagni.
