NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Residents in Hampshire County saw the greatest amount of snowfall in this latest winter blast.
In Northampton, snowfall totals amounted to 4 inches. But the farther northwest you go, the deeper you'll be in snow.
Some places in Hampshire County saw more than a foot, including places like Cummington and Worthington.
Residents for the most part seemed prepared for this weather. Many were out early on Thursday trying to clear the way.
We came across one family who lives near the foot of Skinner Mountain. Each member had a job of either shoveling or sanding the driveway. A family activity that they seemed to enjoy doing together.
"We like to teach the kids that they have to learn how to shovel, that's what we used to do," said Jessie Aquino of Hadley. "We used to make money when we were kids doing it that way so we have the kids do it too."
Stephan Wright of Hadley said, "It's hard work, but you know after awhile it's just whatever. You have to do it, so you might as well do it and love it
And while many driveways and roadways have been cleared for sometime, be cautious of the slippery road conditions Thursday night. Because all of that snow and slush we saw Thursday is starting to freeze as the temperature continues to drop.
