GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) - A Massachusetts judge says she'll rule quickly on how to best give defense lawyers access to evidence as they prepare for the retrial of Cara Rintala.
She's accused killing her wife, Annamarie Rintala in their Granby home in March of 2010 after months of stress over finances. A previous jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. Her retrial is scheduled for Janurary.
Rintala's attorney wants an expert to examine human and animal hairs found on the victim's body. Prosecutors want to maintain physical control of the evidence.
