AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - The nation's leaders are turning a blind eye to the evidence of climate change was the message that a standing-room-only crowd received at the University of Massachusetts on Monday.
People gathered on the Amherst campus to hear from Kevin Knobloch, President of the Union of Concerned Scientists.
Knobloch says America is dragging its feet when it comes to taking action on this issue. "The science of climate change is overwhelming. It's very clear that the burning of fossil fuel is increasing the temperature and other climate impacts," Knobloch said.
The UMass students heard Knobloch warn that it will be a great deal more expensive to fix the problem later than If the government started taking action now.
