NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A new report says more Americans are becoming less frugal and eating out more often.
According to Census figures, sales at restaurants hit an all-time high this past April; reaching $45.9 billion.
Experts say people are not only eating out more, but they are drinking more at dinner. Mark Chen, owner of Osaka in Northampton, says that he has noticed a difference. Restaurant manager Charlie Dong told 22News that the warmer weather and the numerous graduations increased business by 15% in the month of April.
"I can tell, because every week ordering the drinks are getting more and more. The business is getting better, we are the only place here who offers hibachi that seats up to 100 people," Dong said.
Dong says that sales at their Brookline location are also up.
