SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - South Hadley Police say that the man who robbed the TD Bank branch at 460 Newton Street Monday morning may be the same man who robbed a bank in Springfield less than an hour later.
Lieutenant Steve Parentela of the South Hadley Police Department told 22News that the unarmed robbery happened just before 8:45 Monday morning. An African-American man walked into the bank wearing a brown fedora, dark sunglasses and a black leather coat.
The man handed the tellers a note demanding money, and then left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash.
He fits the same description as the man wanted by Springfield Police for robbing the Bank of America branch at 1285 St. James Ave. in Springfield.
