AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - Food, family and fun. 22News took some time to visit the Taste of Amherst on Saturday.
Hundreds of people were on the town common eating all the good food that the 22 vendors had available.
Some people even came for a good massage.
This year, the Taste of Amherst tried to be more environmentally friendly than in years past. All the food was served on compostable dinnerware, which was sorted and thrown out at centralized garbage stations.
People told 22News they thought it was a great idea.
Natalie Siesmaszko from Montclair, New Jersey told 22News, "I love that. I like that they have the people there telling you where to throw everything too, because what I thought was garbage, was actually compost. I didn't realize everything was compostable like that. So I think it's great."
"It doesn't get any better than this. But it's also because everybody is out together and the music is fabulous and the food is delicious," said Jackie Bishop of Amherst.
The Taste of Amherst had a little something for everybody, including rides for the kids.
If you missed the taste on Saturday, it's also being held Sunday.
