WARE, Mass. (WWLP) - The town of Ware saluted our nation's veterans by creating a field of flags on Sunday.
The Ware Historical Society and Ware Veterans Council have paired up for the 3rd year in a row for the Ware Remembers Ceremony.
Ware residents met up on the corner of Route 9 and Greenwich Plains Road to place flags on the town's historic green.
Beverly Martel of Ware told 22News, "It's time to take care of our veterans. I have a flag for my husband every year. He was in the Korean War."
For a $5.00 donation an American Flag will be placed on the historic green until Flag Day, Friday, June 14th.
Memorial Day parade begins at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, starting on Maple Street, ending at Veterans' Park on Main Street for Memorial Day exercises.
