WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The 22News I-Team has discovered the man who's facing charges in connection to a Westfield shooting has already done time for other gun crimes.
22-year-old Raymond Boissonault was arraigned in Court last week for allegedly shooting a man in the leg in Westfield.
The 22News I-Team obtained court papers that reveal he recently spent time in jail for receiving stolen firearms and other gun crimes.
District Attorney Mark Mastroianni told 22News Boissonault served the minimum mandatory time in jail and if convicted again, his sentence will be longer as a second offender. "We take gun offenses extraordinarily seriously and we seek to impose those mandatory minimum sentences on people and charge those individuals who are repeat offenders with gun offenses to the minimum mandatory dictates of the law any time we can."
Boissonault will be back in court in April.
