CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - It's been 12 years since 16 year old Molly Bish was abducted from her lifeguard post in Warren, MA. The agonizing search for Molly came to an end in 2003, when her remains were found in Palmer, only 5 miles from her home and from where she had been abducted.
Another similar tragic case is the 1993 murder of 10 year old Holly Piirainen. She disappeared from near her Grandmother's home in Sturbridge. Three months later her remains were found in a wooded area in Brimfield.
So this week on 22News inFocus, we'll share Molly and Holly's stories, and we'll discuss how a piece of legislation called "Molly's bill" could help protect children here in the Pioneer Valley. We'll also talk about how a new license plate design could make it easier for police to track down abductors, and save a child's life.
