CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) - Affordable housing, homelessness and community development are quality of life issues many cities and towns face.
This Sunday on 22News InFocus, Aaron Gornstein, Undersecretary for the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development will discuss housing issues including reducing the number of homeless families in hotels and first time home buyer programs for tornado affected neighborhoods in Springfield.
He will also talk about Governor Deval Patrick's recent announcement of $31-million in community development funds for neighborhood revitalization.
The state administers nearly $1 billion in state and federal funds for a variety of programs for affordable housing production, community development, municipal assistance, local and regional planning, energy conservation, rental assistance, and public housing, among others.
