WATERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - Governor Deval Patrick has ordered the MBTA to shut down all transit service, as the manhunt for a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing continues.
This includes bus, train, and subway service.
Police are expanding their area of concern, as they are telling residents of Watertown, and the surrounding communities of Cambridge, Belmont, Allston, Brighton, Waltham, and Newton to stay home.
Residents of those communities are also being advised not to gather in crowds.
Boston hospitals are in lockdown. Patients discharged can't leave; others can't come in unless via ambulance. Doctors and nurses can't come or go.
The 2013 Police Exam (Municipal, State, & MBTA) scheduled for Saturday 4/20 has been postponed.
The Boston Red Sox game scheduled for Friday night has been postponed.
The Bruins game scheduled for Friday night has also been postponed.
