AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - Forget drinking it, you can now spray your coffee with a new product that hit store-shelves last month.
It's the new way to get your caffeine fix. It's called AeroShot and for now it's only sold in stores in Massachusetts or New York. It's the size of a tube of lipstick and can be found in convenience stores from Boston to Brighton.
Each can holds as much caffeine as a large cup of coffee as well as vitamin B. But although manufacturers say they are not targeting college students, word around campus travels fast. "You see students you know use drugs for their chemical benefits but I don't know I like to drink coffee but that has more to do with drinking coffee I don't like the idea of the cause and effect use of a substance," said Amherst College student Lock Whitney.
Mount Holyoke College student Mila Devenport said, "We are more conditioned for Redbull and other types of substances and I think with the right marketing it's something people would be really open to just because there's not a lot of concern about what college people put into their bodies as long as it gives you that result."
Manufacturers of the product only recommend users consume no more than 3 shots per day, the can holds 6 sprays and retails at $2.99.
