A community is in mourning after 24-year-old Wilbraham-native Amy Lord was kidnapped and stabbed to death in Boston Tuesday morning. "It's horrific. I can't think of any other word to describe it," said Joan Harrington of Thorndike.
Lord was a Minnechaug Regional High School cheerleader who graduated in 2007, went to college and had her whole life ahead of her instead, it was cut short.
"Here you have a remarkable young woman, worked hard, graduated Bentley, aspiring, it's just a bad tragedy for the family and for the people of the area," said Wilbraham's Sherry Levine.
On Tuesday, Lord's family will say their final goodbyes at St. Cecilia Church, at 42 Main Street, in Wilbraham.
The community will also have their chance to pay respects during a wake from 3:00 to 7:00 Monday at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, at 21 Tinkham Road in Springfield.
Tuesday's funeral service at the church will be followed by a private burial.

"You know, young people today, you think they're safe, you know , they're away from home. I couldn't imagine if that was my daughter, how I would feel," said Suzanne Lagacy of Monson.
