Police have taken a suspect into custody one week after a masked man made off with cash after allegedly robbing a St. Anne’s Credit Union.
According to police, after a week long investigation the suspect was taken into custody at his Phillips Avenue apartment around 9 p.m. on Monday.
David Frates, 43, was arraigned in New Bedford District Court and according to police, has a previous record including two bank robberies that took place in 2006.
Frates was sentenced to 4 to 6 years in prison after the 2006 robberies, and police believe he was the suspect in last week’s masked holdup.
