NEW YORK (NBC) - Spanish researchers say a glass of wine a day just might help prevent depression.
Their study of over five thousand people found those who drank two to seven glasses of wine a week were the least likely to have depression symptoms; compared to non-drinkers.
However, mental health experts say this could be because moderate drinkers tend to have a better social life, which helps them avoid depression.
Researchers warn these findings are not a reason to start drinking, but if you consume alcohol, sticking to wine and limiting your consumption may provide a mental health benefit.
