NEW YORK (NBC) - New England Patriot’s fans shouldn't have to worry about this but those who support losing teams may want to watch their diet.
A defeat often causes fans to reach for more junk food.
A research team in Singapore analyzed the dietary patterns of people when their hometown's NFL team lost a game.
They tended to eat 10-percent more calories and 16-percent more saturated fat than they would normally, perhaps in an attempt to comfort themselves.
There were no shifts in food choices in cities that did not have a NFL team.
