SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Robocalls from telemarketers happen as soon as you sit down for dinner, or any other time of the day.
It's still happening to many people even if you're on the National "Do Not Call" list.
On Wednesday night, 22News found out that even if telemarketers are supposed to check the "Do Not Call" registry every 31 days, some don't.
Many people told 22News usually they just hang up or ignore calls from unknown numbers.
Gloria Penna of West Springfield said, "I saw who it was, and I just didn't answer it because I don't know anybody in California."
"It's the law. They should respect it. Everyone does telemarketing. Everyone has to reach out by the telephone, but it is a little annoying," said Dana Cain of Springfield.
Phone numbers placed on the National "Do Not Call" list remain on it permanently. If you continue to receive robocalls, you can file a complaint.
