ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) - A man was killed near the Attleboro downtown commuter rail station Thursday morning about 9 a.m., as he had been walking on train tracks near Peck and Pleasant streets.
According to MBTA Transit Police, the man was 46 years old, but his name was not immediately released.
Tansit Police say the man had been hit by a commuter rail train traveling from Boston to Attleboro. He was walking on the railroad tracks, which is prohibited by law.
Police for the city of Attleboro and Amtrak responded to the scene, and Amtrak detectives were investigating the incident.
Two trains were delayed because of the investigation on the tracks.
