BOSTON (WWLP) - 300 people gathered Thursday in Boston to get information on running a medical marijuana dispensary in Massachusetts.
The session was run by Medbox Inc., a consulting company that makes dispensing systems similar to vending machines.
Medical marijuana regulations await final approval from the Public Health Council, but voters made Massachusetts the 18th state to legalize medical marijuana in November.
There will only be 35 licenses available for dispensaries. The state is requiring applicants to put at least 500,000 dollars in an escrow account to ensure they have enough resources to operate, and to submit operating and security plans.
