National Grid has received numerous calls from customers saying they have been contacted by individuals claiming to be from the utility company and advising customers to make immediate payments on their past due balances.
The company does contact customers with past due balance, but never demands for direct payment over the phone.
To verify information and for any billing-related questions, customers should call National Grid's Customer Contact Center at 1-800-322-3223.
