Police: 2 in custody after shots fired at officers in Boston

The investigation is ongoing

BOSTON (AP) — Authorities say two suspects are in custody after shots were fired at Boston police and state police officers who were conducting a joint investigation.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in Boston's Roslindale neighborhood.

Police say the suspects opened fire on the officers, who then returned fire. No one was hurt.

The first suspect, who was not immediately identified, was taken into custody within minutes of the exchange.

Police say they captured the second suspect hours later. He was identified as 25-year-old Eric Rosado-Gonzalez. It's unclear if he has an attorney. Police say he will be charged with assault with intent to murder a police officer.

It was not immediately known if one or both of the suspects opened fire.

The investigation is ongoing.
