STOUGHTON, Mass. (AP) - Police say a pregnant woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Stoughton and the driver is facing a vehicular homicide charge.
Police say they responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a car around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
The Enterprise reports that police and firefighters attempted life-saving aid before the victim was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she died.
The driver, identified as 46-year-old Karen Blau of Sharon, was arrested at the scene and is expected to face charges including motor vehicle homicide in Stoughton District Court on Monday.
It was not clear if Blau had a lawyer.
The incident happened the same day that a 60 year-old woman pushing a baby carriage was struck and repeatedly run over by a van in Lynn. The still-unidentified woman died from her injuries.
