SANFORD, Fla. (NBCNC) - The George Zimmerman murder trial continued Thursday with the return of one of the state's most anticipated witnesses.
Rachel Jeantel, the teenager Trayvon Martin was on the phone with moments before he was killed, faced another round of intense questioning by the defense.
Experts say the defense needs to make Jeantel unbelievable to the jury.
Her testimony, that Martin said he was being followed prior to the confrontation, helps contradict Zimmerman's statements that he killed Martin in self defense.
"She's put forth testimony which if believed, would put the state on the way to a murder conviction," says legal analyst Kendall Coffey.
