KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KSHB) - A girls' night out ended tragically Saturday when a 26-year-old mother was killed after she fell out of a party bus on Kansas City's Interstate Highway 35 and was struck by several passing cars.
Police say Jamie Frecks fell from the bus emergency door on northbound I-35 before she was hit by at least three vehicles.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family said they were devastated to hear the details of what happened. They want to know exactly what went wrong and why she never made it home.
Cynthia Matteson is the victim's aunt. She said Jamie was a new mother and that Saturday night was one of her first nights out without her baby girl.
"Why wasn't it secure?" Matteson said. "A person hires a person for safety; to get you there and back home. Why wasn't she brought back home safe?"
