CYPRESS, TX, (CNN) - At least 14 people were injured Tuesday when a student at a Texas college began stabbing people on campus. Martha Shade brings us the latest developments.
A typical Tuesday morning at Lone Star College in Cypress, Texas quickly became anything but. At least 14 people were injured when, according to police, a student started stabbing people on the Houston-area campus.
"Everyone was out right in front of my classroom bleeding on the neck and the ears, this girl it seemed like she was bleeding close to her mouth."
Ambulances and helicopters rushed 12 victims to nearby hospitals. Of those at the hospital, two are in critical condition, and four are in fair condition.
The campus went into lockdown. "At first I didn't think it was anything and then all the reports started coming in, it was just really scary after hearing about it."
While law enforcement combed the area, the college posted a message on its website, warning people about the incident.
Authorities detained one person. a suspect has been taken into custody, white male, 21 years of age and currently enrolled at Lone Star College.
Today's incidents come more than two months after three people were wounded in a shooting at a different Lone Star College campus.
It's unclear if the incidents are related.
