(1924-2012) - Albert J. D'Agostino, 88, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 26, 2012. Born in West Springfield, son of the late Luigi and Mary (Galante) D'Agostino, he lived in West Springfield before moving to Agawam in 1955. Albert was an auto body worker, working for West Side Auto Body, Jerry's Auto Body, Larson Auto Body, Atlas Auto Body and then returning to Larson Auto Body at which time he and his brother became co-owners. He was a member of the Agawam Unico Club, a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed Big Band Music and building furniture. He was also a World War II army veteran.
He leaves his wife of sixty-five years, Barbara O. (DeGeorge) D'Agostino, two sons, Richard A. and his wife Jane D'Agostino of Westfield, David J. D'Agostino, a daughter, Kathleen A. D'Agostino both of Agawam, a brother, Angelo D'Agostino of West Springfield, a sister, Eda Basile of Enfield, four grandchildren, Brian D'Agostino, Amy Levan, Angelina D'Agostino, Joseph D'Agostino, a great-grandchild, Charlotte J. Levan and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9am from the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10. The burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
