(1929-2013) - Emanuel Poulos, Sr., 70, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, son of the late John and Constadena (Leopoulos) Poulos, he was a lifelong resident of Agawam and a graduate of Agawam High School. Emanuel worked as a district manager for all the New England States for Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. He also worked for Hamilton Standard where he tested the backpack and space suit used for the first walk on the moon. He was an avid gardener and an army veteran of the Vietnam War. He also had attended St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in East Longmeadow.
He leaves his wife of forty-nine years, Mary L. (Monsko) Poulos, a son, Emanuel Poulos, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, a daughter and her husband, Kathryn M. and Michael Campion of Somers, CT, three sisters, Joanne Candido, Deborah Poulos, Tammy Poulos all of Agawam, and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Ella and Anna Campion.
The service will be Tuesday at 10am at the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street. There are no calling hours and Agawam Funeral Home is in charge.
