(1933-2013) - Raymond E. Menard, Jr., died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Raymond E. and Anna (Gasperack) Menard. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Audrey M. (Dodge) Menard in 1995 of Lou Gehrig Disease. He attended Cathedral High School and American International College. Ray was a former selectman for the Town of Wales. At present he was a member and on the board of directors of the Forest Park VFW 7352. He was also a past member of the Massachusetts Police Chiefs Association, State and Hampden County Selectman's Association, the director of the American Bosch Management Club and a member of the Springfield Industrial Association. Ray belonged to the American Legion Post 185 of Agawam, the West Springfield-Agawam Lodge of Elks, the Verde Club ant the Danti Club. He worked in management for many years. He was a factory superintendant of management at Phelon and retired as factory superintendant of American Bosch – UTC Diesel. He loved the Yankees, Patriots, and the Celtics.
He leaves a son, John R. of Hawaii, a son James E. and his wife Wendy of Springfield, and a daughter, whom he lived with, Christina M. and her husband Stephen Monette of East Longmeadow. He also leaves two grandchildren who he loved very much, Ashley Menard and Colin Monette, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street from 4-7pm. The burial will be private. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376.
