SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It's the final day of campaigning for Democrat Ed Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez, before voters go to the polls in the special race for the U.S. Senate seat.
It was a weekend of non-stop campaigning for the two and that will continue all day Monday.
On Monday, Markey will make a final sweep across the state. He'll meet with supporters and volunteers at Palazzo's Café in Springfield at 10:00 A.M. before heading on to stops in Worcester and Lawrence; wrapping up the day in his hometown of Malden.
Gomez, according to his campaign website, has nine stops planned for Monday, all in the eastern part of the state.
Gomez was in Western Masschusetts on Sunday; making appearances in Springfield, Chicopee and Agawam.
The special U.S. Senate election on Tuesday is to fill the seat left vacant when John Kerry became Secretary of State.
