SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - As the disagreements over automatic spending cuts continue on, many Americans are frustrated over this division that will end up costing them more than their leaders down in Washington.
22News spoke with several people here in western Massachusetts who say that they've had enough.
"It's absolutely ridiculous; the showmanship, the brinksmanship, it's all about politics rather than trying to actually solve anything," Doug Salvas of Southampton said.
"I don't think they're looking out for the--if you want to use the term--"99%"; I mean they really need to figure something out," Ryan Baker of Somers, Connecticut said.
The holdup over preventing the spending cuts is not a new argument; President Obama wants more revenue in the form of the closure of tax loopholes, while Republicans say that the revenue issue was dealt with during the Fiscal Cliff negotiations, and spending alone must be addressed at this time.
