WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The 22-year-old woman charged with turning a 14-year-old girl into a sex slave is a mother of three children, 22News discovered.
Leonne Vieu is pictured on her personal Facebook page lying in a hospital bed, cradling a newborn. Comments from friends refer to the infant as Vieu's child.
She wrote on her profile that she is a mother of three.
Westfield Police could neither confirm nor deny this, and they could not answer questions about where the children are staying now, or what effect this case will have on their living arrangements.
We're still trying to find out if Vieu's children lived with her and 31-year-old Nathaniel Lami, who is also charged in the case.
The couple lived in Lami's mother's basement in the Colonial Pine Acres apartment complex at 50 Southampton Road.
They were arraigned Tuesday on charges including aggravated rape of a child, lascivious posing or exhibiting of a child in the nude, distribution of a live performance of obscene matter, and indecent assault and battery.
The victim says she was told to sign a "sex slave contract," which investigators said they recovered from the suspects' home.
Lami was held on $25,000 bail and Vieu on $5,000 bail.
22News spoke exclusively Wednesday with Caitlyn Lami, Nathaniel Lami's sister. She said that she and her family are shocked by the allegations, and things are particularly hard on her mother.
"A lot of it doesn't make sense yet. I'm not defending him, I'm not saying it was not true, there is a lot of evidence," she said. "I'm just saying court did not happen yet and people are just blowing it up right now, and it needs to stop because it is killing my mom."
"The things we heard in the courtroom (on Tuesday) were terrible, they were horrible and we were in just utter shock," she said.
The Westfield Police Department says they're investigating the possibility that there could be other victims.
