WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has been released from the hospital aftersuffering a seizure during an inaugural luncheon.
Kennedy's office confirmed that on Wednesday morning he leftWashington Hospital Center, where he had been resting overnight forobservation. A spokeswoman says he was in good spirits and doctorswanted him to get some rest.
Doctors blamed fatigue for the seizure. Kennedy has beenunder treatment for a brain tumor, suffered during an inauguralluncheon after hours at events celebrating the swearing-in ofPresident Barack Obama.
The 76-year-old Massachusetts Democrat was diagnosed lastMay with a particularly aggressive type of brain tumor and beentreated with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.
