AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - UMass alum Jon Quick has a chance to become the first Minuteman to win the Stanley Cup.
Quick is the Los Angeles Kings goalie. The Kings have a three-games-to-none lead on the New Jersey Devils.
Quick is a Hamden, Connecticut native and led UMass to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2007. UMass hockey head coach Don "Toot" Cahoon told 22News that he stays in touch with Quick, and hopes his former player can bring home the Cup.
"I might drink out of it this time, knowing that a former player is going to be part of achieving that goal," Cahoon said.
The Kings can win the Cup tonight. Game 4 is at 8:00 P.M. on the NBC Sports Network , not on WWLP.
