NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The temperature impacts how we eat.
With temperatures in the low 90's in the Pioneer Valley, it drove a lot of people indoors and away from heavy foods.
Serio's Market Owner Gary Golec says he does notice different foods inside shoppers' carriages. Golec says food you can grill and salads are very popular this time of year.
"Weather really has a huge effect on what people buy. If it's 95 degrees out, people are not going to be firing up the ovens. They are coming in and buying burgers and dogs, something to put on the grill. You see a big boom just in your salad business," Golec said.
Experts suggest eating foods with high levels of potassium, which has a natural cooling effect on your body.
