SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It was a beautiful day to take a walk in Forest Park on Thursday. The sunshine was back out after some rain earlier this week.
Even though we've seen a little bit of wet weather over the last few days and things are starting to green up we could still use quite a bit more rain.
This week most places picked up less than a half inch of rain and the US Drought Monitor still has most of western Massachusetts in the "moderate drought " category.
"We're planning a big graduation party for my son and I'm hoping that the grass will green up a little bit more before that happens and obviously the plants and the vegetation it makes it easier you don't have to water so much when it rains," said Dayna Hyman Springfield.
The recent wet weather gave allergy sufferers a little relief but the tree pollen is back up again.
"I feel it, I take my meds in the morning and when I go home this afternoon I'll have to take more It's really, really strong. My car is green it's really covered with the dust," said Yolonda Rodriguez of Springfield.
And with lots of sunshine, gusty winds and low humidity our brush fire danger was once again on the high side.
"I think we could use a little more rain because I know it's been fire hazards and stuff as far as dry weather and everything I think we could us a little more rain," said Patrice Holden of Springfield.
But despite our lack of rain most people weren't really complaining about Thursday's beautiful spring weather.
