The National Weather Service in Taunton had issued a Flash Flood Warning for WMass.
The heavy rain has moved out of western Massachusetts and the Flash Flood Warning for Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire County has expired.
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain may fall in the next hour.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Some locations that will experience flooding include Chicopee, Amherst, Westfield, Montgomery, Southampton, Holyoke, West Springfield, Easthampton, Pelham, Belchertown, Southwick, Granville, Granby, South Hadley, Hatfield and Hadley.
A Flash Flood Warning is issued for rapid and potentially life threatening flooding. In urban areas avoid flooded roadways and obey Road closures. Those living along streams and creeks should move to higher ground immediately to protect life and property.
