WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It was a warm late August day out there Friday, but we're seeing a little bit of color showing up on the trees.
It sure doesn't feel like fall out there but we are seeing signs that the season will be changing not too long from now. While most of the trees are still pretty green we are starting to see some leaves showing a little bit of early fall color. The days have been getting shorter and we have had some cooler temperatures at night and that is causing the leaves to start to change color.
But not everybody is just quite ready for fall.
“Absolutely not, it's too early,” said Ruben Davis III of Springfield. “We're not even in September. I know it's 2 more days but still... it's too early. I still have my swimming pool open.”
The maple trees are usually the first to change color with their orange and red leaves.
Fall officially begins on September 22nd.
