CHARLEMONT, Mass. (WWLP) - For months, many people in Franklin County have been prepared for Friday's coming snowstorm; having bought plenty of supplies well ahead of time.
"They stock up on wood and oil and everything," said Kayla Clark of Avery's General Store in Charlemont. "They get last-minute food right before the storm. They're not panicky."
Indeed, many people that 22News spoke with in Charlemont on Thursday said that they have made adequate preparations for the storm; so let it snow!
"I'm going to sit and watch a lot of it, and then when it calms down, I'm going to do some roof raking, and snow blowing and clean up," Deborah Miller of Rowe said.
"We live in western Massachusetts; we get snow storms all the time," Shane Furlon of Charlemont said. "Not like when I was kid, but we still get them."
Regardless of where you live, there's one side to a snow storm makes people edgy, especially when they're behind the wheel.
"Driving in it, absolutely hate driving in it. Just having to go out in the cold, I'd rather stay home," Amanda Lovett of Colrain said.
Everyone 22News spoke with on Thursday has already bought enough winter clothing in anticipation months ago of just such a storm as we're expecting. And the potential for a good amount of snow is exciting news for winter sports enthusiasts, like downhill and cross country skiers.
