(WWLP) - A Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of western Massachusetts has concluded
The watch was for Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties until 10:00 P.M. All of Connecticut, as well as central Massachusetts, southern Vermont, southern New Hampshire, and portions of eastern Massachusetts are also under the watch.
A series of thunderstorms over upstate New York and Pennsylvania moved westward, and has the potential to bring hail, winds with gusts of over 60 miles per hour, and heavy rains.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means that conditions in the atmosphere exist that are favorable for severe thunderstorms. It is different from a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, which means that a severe storm is imminent, or is already happening.
You can track the storms yourself on our severe weather page.
