BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - This latest snowstorm certainly did not treat all of western Massachusetts equally. In Northampton, it appears that only a light dusting of snow fell, while in Easthampton, they received only about 2" of snow.
Less than 20 miles away in Belchertown, however, it is a different story. Residents there dealt with more than half a foot of snow, with even more falling to the east in Ware.
It was some of the slushier, heavier snow, so it made for some slick conditions.
Many drivers told 22News that they are used to the snow in the hills, but early on in the day, it made for a messy commute.
"It was pretty bad getting to work. I saw a pretty bad car accident this morning; a Jeep plowed into a guardrail. The roads have been real slippery and there are a lot of snow trucks out, it's getting pretty deep," Nicholas St. George of Ware said.
Despite the several inches in eastern Hampshire County, some people told us that they're just trying to get through Friday, and expecting most of it to melt by Saturday.
