NBC NEWS - A storm that dumped up to 15 inches of snow on parts of Colorado and Kansas is making its way east.
It doesn't look much like Spring, with heavy snow in the Midwest and strong winds and the threat of tornados in the South.
The early spring storm is expected to impact at least 15 states from Kansas on into the mid-Atlantic.
"It's not out of the question to get a storm like this in late March but what is a little bit unusual is just the widespread area of the country that it's actually impacting," notes The Weather Channel's Julie Martin.
The storm left lots of shoveling for many residents of the Midwest.
In central Florida the storm left thousands without power as wind gusts between 50 and 86 miles an hour knocked down tree limbs and caused minor damage to homes.
