CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - An emotional City Council meeting Tuesday night in Chicopee.
After hearing from Michelle Mathieson, the mother of murder victim Amanda Plasse, the City Council decided to withdraw a proposal to ask the Attorney General's office to investigate the Police Department and the Mayor.
Some Chicopee police officers are accused of taking cell phone photos of Plasse's body when she was stabbed to death, and sharing those photos with people outside the department.
City Councilors told 22News they realized Tuesday night the focus should be on finding the suspect.
Chicopee City Councilor John Vieau, “There are people that are grieving and hurting very deeply, and if you have any information that can help catch someone who belongs behind bars, please come forward.”
22News spoke with Amanda's mother Michelle Mathieson earlier Tuesday. She said she wants her daughter's killer caught.
If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Chicopee Detective Bureau at 594-1730.
