SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A three year-old dog that was found emaciated inside a plastic bag at a Springfield construction site is now well enough to go up for adoption.
Candy Lash of the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society told 22News that there have been more than 100 offers to adopt “Buffy” since her story first aired on 22News last week.

The poodle mix was discovered inside a plastic trash bag wrapped in a blanket last Tuesday. Buffy was brought to Dakin and was then taken to a full-service animal hospital in Northampton where she began her recovery. By the next day, she was showing signs of improvement.
Still, she has ongoing health issues and is fearful of people. Due to her special needs, Dakin has put together an application for those wishing to adopt her. Lash says that they are accepting applications to adopt Buffy through Thursday, and after determining which applicants are qualified, they will select one by lottery on Friday.
