HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke hosted a neighborhood watch meeting where crime wasn't the focus Wednesday night.
Dozens of people Crowded into the DeCice Hall at the Marian Center for the Ward 7 Neighborhood Watch meeting. Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse made a presentation of recent and future initiatives aimed at improving the life in Holyoke, as well attracting new residents and new businesses.
Holyoke financial planner Cindy Bigras told 22News she was energized by what she heard and saw.
"All the redevelopment. New properties being taken by the city being sold so they're back on the tax rolls. A lot of energy in the city. I love all the new endeavors happening," Bigras said.
Among the accomplishments touted by Mayor Morse, the new computing center and skateboard park, improvements to the Suffolk Street Garage and development of the Holyoke Rail Platform.
