LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Longmeadow Police arrested two juveniles suspected of being involved in a vandalism spree totaling more than $5000.
According to Capt. John Stankiewicz, a 13-year-old and 16-year-old were each charged with a total of nine counts of malicious damage to property
Police started the investigation on October 5th when a Captain Road resident reported that a tire was slashed and a skateboard ramp was wedged under one of his vehicles.
Five days later, the same resident contacted police reporting that various parts of his house were spray painted, and an anonymous text message was also received by a household member threatening to burn the house to the ground.
The detectives were able to link the two juveniles to other acts of vandalism including the slashing of vehicle tires on Farmington Ave, Englewood Rd., Allen Rd, Caravelle Dr. and the vandalism of a stop sign on Caravelle Drive.
Before being released to a parent, both juveniles were arraigned and required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
